I have been a baby shower girl this weekend! Friday night, we celebrated Hart's baby, Madeleine, and Saturday we celebrated Abby and my nephew, Baylor! The "sprinkle" was awesome..... Abbs literally didn't need another thing in Baylor's room, so we surprised her with $$$ and made him a door hanger for the hospital room.....Another project I worked on this week while Lyds was napping :)

Side view, I loving adding a little "pop" to the edges of canvases. And the Liddy helped me distress the frame.

Funny story while I was painting the black frame........
So we'd both been to KK's office earlier in the day, we had on our "good" clothes and shoes! I put the fame in the grass outside while Lyds was playing, I got out the bottle of black paint, and "thought" it was behind me where Liddy couldn't mess with it.
I'm not even a few strokes in, and hear this belly laughing..... I turn around to see BLACK paint ALL over her, her precious bubbles and new yellow shoes, AND all over my shirt, skirt and DRIVEWAY!
I instantly kick into teacher mode... this isn't first time I've had to deal with spilt paint..... I grad her up (as she's trying to put her dirty hands into her mouth) and run to the water hose. We both take a mini shower in the sprinkler. And the black instantly starts to run off. We clean up, leave our shoes our to dry, and run inside to throw our clothes in the washer. Surprisingly the black acrylic paint came completely OUT!!! I was thrilled, I just knew it was going to ruin both our clothes and shoes. I regretfully did not get any pictures, because I was in clean up mode! But those are the memories I want to keep. It was my fault for leaving the open bottle of black paint there, so I couldn't be mad. We made the best of it and laughed it away. She had fun and I'm glad.... we will have that splatter of black paint in the driveway to remind us of the day we "painted" Baylor's frame! Thank you Liddy and Baylor for reminding me not to sweat the small stuff and laugh it off if you can! Every day is a gift and there is no use in getting upset over things that don't really matter!

She loved dragging it around!

Abbs requested one like Baker's, but me being different, I can't do the same thing twice!
|
I do love that monkey on Baker's though, it matched his room perfectly!
