Baylor's Baptism

Here is my new sweet little nephew!!! Isn't he beautiful?!
We had such a sweet baptism for him, Brother John was able to make the trip down to baptize Baylor, he baptized Baker, and was very special to Drew and Abby, but he took another appointment in June, so he was able to come back to help with the ceremony. All of Abby and Drew's families were there too, it was a sweet morning.

Baptisms are so sweet and special to me. It's a chance for all of us to renew our covenant with Christ. I usually cannot make it through the whole process without crying, even I don't know the family. I just love watching the preacher and the baby the whole time.

Here's a little reminder of what we say in the Methodist church to renew ourselves and honor the one being baptized. I truly do try to remember all of these and pray for that person and myself in our walk with Christ.

The pastor addresses the congregation, and the congregation responds:
Do you, as Christ’s body, the Church, reaffirm both your rejection of sin
and your commitment to Christ?
We do.
Will you nurture one another in the Christian faith and life and include these persons now before you in your care?
With God’s help we will proclaim the good news and live according to the example of Christ.

We will surround these personswith a community of love and forgiveness,
that they may grow in their trust of God,
and be found faithful in their service to others.

We will pray for them, that they may be true disciples
who walk in the way that leads to life.

All dressed up!

Little Man's first "boxers" (diaper cover!)

Beautiful Gown that my grandmother had made for my Aunt's baptism. It's over 60 years old! And if I'm counting right... 14 family members have worn it over the years. I'll work on finding those pictures later.

Proud Mama and Daddy
Proud Aunt!
Bro John
The Troxler's, McCormick's, Jepsen's, and Hurts. Poor LP didn't want to be in the picture, she was too busy running around!
This kept her entertained for maybe 30 seconds and then she was on to something else!
Lydia stayed in the service and witnessed the baptism, although she just jumped from arm to arm yelling out everyone's name that was up there, including GiGi and Tater (Abby's parents) We took her to the church nursery (where she did much better than at our nursery) and then we all had lunch to celebrate at Char..... it's always yummy, but since our table was so large, it took a little too long for Lyds. She was great up until she just needed her nap. She put her head on the table and started crying/screaming and NOTHING would make her stop! So we had to scoot out early, she fell asleep for a second on the way home and then continued to scream all day/night :( Poor baby was so sleepy, she didn't know what to do! (She also had a sinus infection and was already a little irritable all week.)

Looks like she was practicing her ballet on the railing beside the alter, no worries, this was after church.
I'm sure it's against the rules to run around the alter, but this was after church was over too.
Just singing away!
