Easter 2013

This Easter, Lydia wore a dress that my Nee Naw (my mom's mom) made for me! It has a "K" on it, but we didn't care, I still thought it was special and sweet for her to wear my dress. These few pictures were captured by a friend/photographer at Highland Village the Sunday before Easter. She did a great job! Check her out here: LHendrix Photography.

We have been preparing for Easter all week! We started with learning "Up from the grave He arose," and Lydia loves it! She's so precious singing!
We had the Palm Sunday services at church with a parade around downtown Jackson with the Palm branches and the donkey. Lydia was scared of the donkey this year, but she loved the branches!
Then we had our Easter party and egg hunt at school, which is always fun. But the Easter Bunny himself showed up and Lydia was NOT a happy camper about it! She just starred at him for a little bit and then lost it, crying/screaming, and then she was too afraid to hunt eggs, she just stood there staring at him! I managed to coax her into putting 3 eggs in her little basket.
Saturday the Troxler bunch had breakfast at River Hills and had another egg hunt, that one went much better until she realized there was candy in the eggs and she had to stop to open all of them and play! She didn't like the bunny there either, so we don't have a bunny pic this year :(
Sunday morning, we got up and hustled to early church. We were feeling loving and in the Easter spirit so we let Lydia sit in big church with us! She was very good, and never cried. However, she did make her presence known by yelling or singing whenever she wanted to! She was super good during the sermon, but I accredit the iphone apps to that. She sang when we sang (louder and usually not the song were singing), and she sweetly repeated the responses to everything we said. She was a second or two behind everyone else, but it was oh so sweet! She also LOVED communion! AP told her we were going to get bread, and she said, "Bye, bye Mommy, we are going to get bread!" I told her I was going with her, and she was ok with it. She dipped the bread in the juice cup and everything. During the closing hymn, she started saying she wanted on Daddy's shoulders.... so as soon as we got in the parking lot, that's what she did! It was a fun experience, but I feel sorry for those families in the service that were attempting to worship kid free. We came back to our house for a yummy Easter lunch and Lyds got two more Easter baskets from her grandparents and she took a very long nap! After nap we went to Uncle Bubby's to celebrate Easter and KK's birthday with them. It was a fun filled day, and I was grateful for Jesus, our church, and our family! Feeling very blessed this year!

Here is a little of her singing!

Party at School
Getting ready to go outside with her little precious class!
She spotted the bunny at school!

Poor bunny didn't stand a chance!

Staring the bunny down, while everyone else grabs up the eggs!

They made basket and masks.

This was the longest she had the mask on!

Friday night, Crossgates UMC had a service of shadows where they asked Bubby to speak/read as if he were a disciple on Jesus' last night on earth. He did a great job! And Lydia was super excited to see him!

On to our second Easter party!

She was giving Bay an egg, but she wanted to get her prizes out first.

28 months old and 9 months old..... both weighing in at a whopping 22 pounds! Little girl and big boy!
I like to think that Baylor's thinking,"What in the world do you keep talking about Lyds?!"

Church Sunday Morning, March 31, 2013

Easter morning the Easter bunny was a little late, but he showed up while we were at church! She was so excited to come home to surprises! Her basket was filled with bath goodies, a pinwheel, her favorite gold fish, a new book bag, a camera and her very own children's bible. She instantly loved the camera and began to take pictures, but she really loves it all! The Bible is a sweet one with big pictures and short stories from the bible. She loves reading it and I loving remembering all the wonderful stories!

Alan set the table to for me and helped me clean and get ready for lunch at our house! He's the best husband/daddy anyone could ever want!

Lydia has been singing Happy birthday for a week and when it was her real birthday, she wouldn't sing!
